has anyone ever heard of or used this somputer program??? i was looking at on the internet and it looks pretty decent. i found in a issue of a car audio magazine awhile back. i am looking into purchasing it and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on it.

I'm sure you will be limited by how well your sound card processes the signal, and to a much higher degree how good the mic you use is.
My guess is that the software works well, but you don't get the precision (expensive) microphone and signal processing of the Linear X system.

Just note about the precision processing.....at least of the soundcard.

Unless it has changed in the recent months TERM-LAB uses a simple Soundblaster sound card.

It's not wholly in the sound card nor the mic nor the software that allows such great programs like Linear X and Term-Lab to work. It is a combination of good mics, fairly decent sound cards, and some good processing software.

Killi,
I agree completely. It is a combination of everything, and depending on what the software needs a basic soundcard may be all that is necessary.
The mic I think would have the biggest influence on the performance because if the mics frequency response only goes to 100Hz, you can't really accurately measure anything below that.
