Anyone know of a good, big amp that will run a Stroker 12S well, but won't break me? Something around or under $500 is preferable. If anyone has an amp they want to sell they can e-mail me. Also, any idea what this one 12 would hit in a 91 camaro? Thanks a lot. I know you all hate SPL guessing.

I'm selling a punch 200.2 that would make it loud, however, for about 500 bucks and you're looking for 1200+ watts... Yikes.. I could get you a chrome punch power 250.2
(new) for 700 even, maybe I could find a 500.2 (which would work great) for, say, 1000 even.. Look at the guy in classifieds selling 1100a2 amps.. Thatll work..

I saw a ZR600 for $500, would that be better than the MTX 2300x I have now?

There are amps that have more power into a single 4 ohm load than the MTX 2300 But I think you be hard pressed to find one for 500 bucks. That 2300 will do at least 800 watts some people say up to 1000. If you already have it I'd stick with it.

If you already have that amp why not try it first. It might be exactly what you're looking for and you could take that $500 and use it for something else your system could use, or it might not. I say give it a shot and let us know Those amps can put out close to 1000 watts according to CarSound.

Proaudio 150:
I run B+ kinda high at 14.5v and used a
resistive load. I ran some sine waves and
was able to get, if memory serves, 1012wrms.
This was confirmed by a magazine review but
I can't remember which one/issue.

I second metallica ....if you're looking to stay in the sub-500 range (new equipment), then look to Paramount/Crossfire and USaccoustics. The other amps listed are true die-hard bullet-proof reliable and will give you full out-put power on a bad day with a lion chomping on your power cords!!! However, brand new, they are more expensive than an intro/budget line. If you can find one of them used for around your price range, then purchase!!!
