I just added more batteries for my hydros so I need to cut weight. I was thinking of scrapping my 6 DVC 12"s and 14 cubic ft. ported box for 4 RF XLC 15"s in a 8 cubic ft. sealed box. I know a larger ported box would be better for these woofers but, I really need to keep the weight down. How well would these woofs work in 2 cu. ft. sealed apiece? What else could you guys suggest that would pull around 145 db. I have a 225.2 now but, that's going to be moved to my mids and I will upgrade to a 800a2 or an 1100a2.

Keep the DVCs and run them in that 8 cuft vented. It should outperform the 15s easy.

Dukk was that 8 cu. ft for all 6? Vented? I'm down to these two setups. Could you model some boxes for me. Either 4 Punch DVC 12"s in 8 cu.ft vented running 1 ohm stereo off a 225.2 or 4 XLC 15"s running 2 ohm mono in a 8 cu.ft box. Would the 15"s work well in 8 cu. ft. vented? Have you done any comparable setups? What would be your choice? Thnx!

Dude, just got off TermPro and the 12s w-a-s-t-e the 15s bad. The 15s don't like to be vented that small while the 12s love it. At 60 Hz your talking 4 dB over the 15s for the 12s.
8cuft @ 40Hz = Six 4" vents 8.5" long.
35Hz = 13.5" long.
40 Hz out performs 35 for everything over 30Hz.
Port noise is a little high but at the volume it becomes apparant you won't want to be in the truck anyway!!

Thanks man! I didn't think I'd be able to vent them that small. What could I be able to expect, SPL wise, out of that box?

Good thing, this TermPro is. (As Yoda would say, that is if Yoda were into Car Audio.)

TermPro doesn't get real accurate with multiple woofs (adds 6 everytime woofs double) and it only calculates free field.
It says around 132 free field which translates really roughly to 145ish in car.
I'm betting on more....

Thanks. I've decided what I'm gonna do. I'll build the box for 8 DVCs and have the box divide for four woofs per side and run 4 off my 225.2 at 1 ohm stereo. And as soon as I get enough cash I'm gonna buy 2 more DVCs and 2 Power 800a2s running at 1 ohm stereo. So I'll have about 1.33 per sub and each sub with a 4" Dia. port 8.5" long. Sound about right? I'm thinkin' 150-152 but hopefully 155, that 155'll mean I'll have the loudest vehicle on the island, beating a truck that does 151 db with 32 Marathon 8s
