Stereo is an easier load than mono - when referencing a set impedance. 2 ohm stereo is the same load as 4 ohm mono. The 225.2 will run smooth and easy at that load.
(I think I'm getting the hang of this!)

good answer, but a mono load is going to give more power, and if he is going for spl he will need the power. all 2-channel rf amps are 1ohm stable for short times.

Hmm..are you sure on that? I had a RF 2 channel amp..I think the model was 40ix..I dont totally remember it was a year or so back. Had it to a single DVC 12. Played great for a while...Well that is till it blew. I dont know if the load was the reason. I got rid of the amp. Have any idea?

Running ANY amplifier mono does not really make it put out any more power than it's maximum load in stereo. Only difference is that you are now sending all the power to a single or pair of speakers. And, if you have 2 speakers in series, each speaker will only receive the exact same amount it would have received in stereo.

Well it had air...and 8 guage..and a b****head abuse an amp? LOL never..I did beat play the amp hard....I knew it would not last forever. I know there are alot that have their own opinions on Orion. But I had my orions. Loaded down...played the hell out of them...They got hot yes..but seems like they like it..Never a problem...

So, I have (4) 4 ohm subs... if I strapped 2 per channel, that'd be 2 ohm stereo and it'd run fine? Correct? Also, as an entry level sub, what does everyone think of Kicker comps? And does anybody have any box suggetions for them from previous experiences?

You could do that, or you could go with a High Current amplifier, like the Orion HCCA 225R, MTX 225HO (right model #?), SoundStream 5.0 and 10.0, MMATS, and Earthquake makes a couple good quality HC amps, also called Ultra High Current (UHC). Put all 4 of those little puppies in mono and plug them into that nice little HC beastie . They're normally a tad expensive, but someone had a gaggle of MTX high current beasties for sale at like 250/each = damn cheap!!!
Either way, good luck and rock hard and loud!
