How many individual pieces of equiptment can be grounded to a single point in your cars trunk? Like if you had to ground a2 batteries... a bd1500.1 (Mind you this has to be grounded well enough to play at 1 ohm...) a power400.4 and a symmetry epx unit... Can I just have one 2 gauge ground then just make like 5 other grounds using distrobution blocks?

I ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS run a ground wire for each component separately, no distro blocks for ground. I would recommend that you use the same gauge ground as power, or even larger if possible. They can all be grounded at the same spot, but the 2 ga might not be big enough for mulitple equipment.

you can ground with distro blocks to a single point as long as the larger(distro output) wire can allow a greater/equal amount of current as the total of all wires feeding into the distro block...this is actually quite ideal as it limits the possibility of ground loops and therefore lessens the chance of introducing noise into the system...and make sure that main grounding point is in close proximity to ALL of the devices being grounded there...

with the equipment you are grounding though, i'd suggest multiple grounding points...only because the wire required to ground 2 batts, a 1500W amp and a 400W amp would be very large...if you can, ground the batteries together, then ground the 2 amps together...and ground the symmetry unit seperate from all the others...this will lessen a chance of the symmetry from picking up excessive feedback from the large amount of current flowing through the power amp grounds...

and as stated...use the same size or larger ground wire as the power wire...if you make it too small, it'll be a bottleneck...pulling in all that juice and cramming it up on the other end makes for bad situations...

Linux Airline
Disgruntled employees of all the other OS airlines decide to start their own airline. They build the planes, ticket counters, and pave the runways themselves. They charge a small fee to cover the cost of printing the ticket, but you can also download and print the ticket yourself. When you board the plane, you are given a seat, four bolts, a wrench and a copy of the seat-HOWTO.html. Once settled, the fully adjustable seat is very comfortable, the plane leaves and arrives on time without a single problem, the in-flight meal is wonderful. You try to tell customers of the other airlines about the great trip, but all they can say is, "You had to do what with the seat?"
