ok, my brother gave me a cap today, its been sitting in his room for quite sometime now. i got an extra battery(for a car) in the garage, can i hook the cap up to it and let it charge off of it?if not,how do i charge it?

first off (i know ur new here), wrong section.

to charge a cap simply put it in your trunk and use a small gauge wire for a temp hookup to your main power wires. the small gauge will prevent mass amounts of current from being drawn.

the best way would be to use a cap charger, but im assuming you don't have one. if you have a test light. that'll work also. connect the negative lead of your main power wire to the cap, then connect the test light to the + power wire and then to the + on the cap. when the test light goes out, its charged. and then you can hook up your power wire..
