it kinda like a battery but it discharges REAL fast, and helps voltage peaks and dips more level
i seen people gain and some lose....strang
i was at a show this guy had 2 stroker 15's he had a cap i beat his score every round me and him was going up to see who would be in the final round his cap blew apart in the round before so he unhooked it. we went and he got me,it was his best score ever and mine was the same as before.so he went to the final round and topped his score again, said he would never own another cap again.
so its always different

there's a lot of contraversy on whether or not caps hurt or help as far as streetin and comps go.

the only real drawback to caps (may be why people are hurtin) is that they simply don't hold enough juice to make a difference and have to recharge a lot, however when street beatin, they still help to flatten out spikes regardless of the bandaid effect. that effect is trying to keep lights from dimming and whatnot..

To me, a cap would be useful for someone using either an unregulated power supply amp or for someone who listens to music with a lot of kickdrums and quick bass hits rather than boomy rap songs with continuous bass hits.

I would use a cap if my lights were dimming. Caps help to filter ripple, that's about it.

IMO i would not use a cap because i have only seen trouble with that. I would only recomend a cap if you are going to be doing some daily driving.
