I have a silly question indicative of my ignorance...
I have the Audiobahn A2200HC - a fricking 1600W powerhouse, anyhow I am worried that this thing is going to overtax my puny Honda Civic alternator despite my after-market battery...
If I am using it to power 2-Audiobahn ALUM10 subs, could I minimize it's impact to my electrical system by wiring them on separate channels to keep them at 4 Ohms or wiring them on the same channel in series to increase the impedance to 8 Ohms (thereby reducing the current draw)
Does this actually reduce the impact on the electrical system, or is my reasoning incorrect? (I know this will reduce the power output of my subs, but I don't need em that loud anyway)
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
THanks!

The more power going to your subs the more power your amp will draw from the electrical system. The efficiency will also change slightly but the difference in total output power is the main thing. So if you have them at 2 ohm mono right now, wiring them at 4 ohm stereo will cut your power to 1/4th and reduce the amount of power taken from your electrical system by the same amount. Wiring them at 8 ohm on a single channel will again reduce your total power by 1/4th. Wiring them 8 ohm mono will be the same as 4 ohm stereo.
