I run the electronics division of a Custom Install shop in New York State. I know a lot of you guys compete and have good product knowledge in general. I am looking to replace a couple of lines in my store and was wondering what might be some suggestions of any new lines out there that might be worth looking at. The lines I am looking to repace are Xtant and MTX. I am looking mostly for a solid decent looking brand that isn't sold for cost on the internet. I don't try to rob people, but I have to make a living too. Thanks for your input. Some of the brands I have been considering are Diamond Audio, Sound Stream, Aluma Pro, and Linear dynamics

If you're worried about Internet sales, you should look at Treo and MB Quart. We carry both of them and they both prohibit internet sales of their product.

Diamond is one that seems to go over very well with the common folk...they tend to like the components(even though they're not special at all), and their subs ARE excellent drivers...plus they got that amp line...i think they picked that up from Esoteric?...either way it's a decent amp line...

I really think Diamond Audio is a high quality product both with both there subs and new amps. Esoteric wires most there boards on the new amps and supposedly they are bad ass, but the porducts might me a little high in price.

Digital designs, they are a bitch to get. Diamond Audio- we are the only dealer in miles, and they sell like crazy. They are also a good product. Concept- A great new brand, people have never really heard of them. But they have something to offer for everyone. We had a special on the fighter series, and sold out very quickly.

Well thanks for your replies so far. The main reason for wanting to dump MTX is just the fact that you can buy them on the internet for less than my cost. Xtant I really don't want to let go, but they aren't really flashy enough to get the kids attention. Most of the kids in my market seem to care more about what a product looks like than how it performs. I was once doing a demo for a kid on an Eclipse head unit with the 8 volt balanced outputs and he replied and I quote " yeah but it doesn't have dancing dolphins" I would like to see more kids actually get into sound quality and db competitions and am going to try really hard to have a comp next year. yeah Xtant is a good company and thy really stand by their product, but I sem to be losing too many sales to inferior amps for the same price because of looks. I think the x1001 is pretty sharp looking and the sub line looks good too, but kids just aren't buying it. Also Xtant fell way short on a bunch of delivery dates this year. I really didn't have a good representation of them until about mid August which is end if the season around here. Thanks for your suggestions so far though.

I find that to be a real shame, but with the amount of gaudy looking crap out there these days it must be true. I just hope it's a trend that will fade away. I hope the market for quality, reliability, and SQ will remain strong enough to keep the good companies in business. However, this post is a prime example of what is happening. Your shop is going to possibly drop Xtant for something that 'looks' flashy or cool??? I sure hope this isn't happening everywhere.
