I am just horrified by how the speakers sound right now in my car, using (to the best of there abilities) the crossovers built into my amps and the minuscule equalization offered by the iva-d300.
I just moved up (up being relative) from an Eclipse 8443, I need the more control.
I am interested in three things. First, is the only difference on the controllers the color of the buttons (green on the 700 and blue on the 701)? I don’t want the controller unit because I have a d300 but I just wanted to know.
Second is there any difference in the brain boxes of the 700 and 701? Will both do exactly the same thing through my d300.
And lastly I need to know where to get one of these things. Is alpine still making them? The 700 is listed on their website but that unit is many years old. I can't find at crutchfield(they sell the controller) or many of the other online carriers of Alpine. Only found two places that have it. One for just under 400$ and one for 430$ I am afraid of going to my local alpine dealer and asking retail cost.
Thanks Alex

Call Jeff Smith at Car Tunes in Atlanta. He is the guy to see.
The differences--color of controller that you don't care about, and I was told the 701 had some software change to allow for faster response to changes made on the controller.
Also--the 700 includes the controller and the 701 series the controller and the brain can be bought separate.
