I'd like to do a complicated system with a lot of separate speakers driving different frequency ranges, and I'm worried about cancellation. It can be alleviated by a very high slope crossover, but the only one I know of is Sony's XES unit set to 72 db/o. Is there any other electronic crossover that can do a high slope? Is there any way to build one?

You can get 24 with some audio control units, my Image Dynamics is 24. I think the Sony does the filtering in the digital domain where the high order filters are just as easy to implement as a lower order filter. You can build a 72dB/oct analog filter but the amount of parts starts to get pretty high and the results can be less than good due to device tolerances.
