Hi,

I don't know too much about Eq's, but I have one in mind right now.
It's a PG EQ215ix for about 600. (is this too much for this eq?)

I need something comparable in price, and I wouldn't mind a 1/3 octave w/a 30 band graphic eq over the 2/3-15 band the EQ215ix has.

What other companies makes a good to great eq for the price of $600 CDN, I wouldn't mind spending a little more tho. The PG EQ232 is about 900 and that's a little too much for me.
thanks in advance.

The 215x is a good unit.
I would say 600 canadian is too much though, if I recall it retails for around 390 or so. I don't know the exchange rate but I didnt think it was 1.50 to 1. If I'm wrong then it isn't a bad price but you might be able to get it cheaper. The Audio control EQX is a good piece and roughly the same (knobs instead of sliders and different band spacing). I prefer the looks of the PG but I have used both and they both work great.

jc2:
I just want to make sure that we're talking about the same unit. With PG there's the EQ215i AND the EQ215ix.
I believe the EQ215ix has the same features as the EQ232, but the only difference is the 1/3 Octave 30 band EQ on the 232 and 2/3 octave 15 band eq on the 215ix.
If that's the same unit your talking about sorry for the long post...
Are there any other EQ's other then audio control you would recommend?
And unfortunetly the exchange rate is around that high 1.49 to 1 US.
So I guess I know what I can compare the price too ... stupid canadian dollar

I didn't know they exchange rate was that high.
The 215ix is the same as the 215i except it has the two way crosover, but they have same bands (two 15 band channels). The 232 doesn't have a crossover but has 32 1/3 octave bands per channel.
The only other crossover I have used are my Image Dynamics IDQ31, but at around 800 a pair US they blow your budget by a little.

jc2: thanks for the info, maybe i'll just stick with the PG EQ215ix, since it seem like what i'm looking for in my price
and no one else has suggested another eq.
and that ID sounds kinda out of my range.

Hold up, I'm not sure of the price but I know orion makes a tight 30 band 1/3 octave EQ and it looks amazing. I would check that out before you plop down the dough for a pg

Just thought I'd throw my two cents in. Check into Crossfire's 31-bander. It's a rack-mount EQ, which I think is a much sweeter looking piece, and I know they're fairly inexpensive. Just another one to check into. Good luck. Later.

I think Audiobahn makes a 30 band eq 2/3 18db crossover and sub phase control and it retails 4 $519 but u can get it cheaper.
It is AEX300 by audiobahn check that one out
