Just curious as to your opinions on this unit. I am told it is very close to the Alpine F-1 processor and I got a good deal on one. Don't want to make this major change before the finals if it is iffy.
It will replace my symmetry epx2 28 band eq/xover/preamp. Here us what I know of the piece.
The Alpine piece is not available untill next month. Reading below give me your opinions on which is better considering price in the equation.
Alpine PXA-H700 or Pioneer P-9?
I believe they perform mostly the same functions. Please correct me if I am wrong. The Alpine piece is $700 and Pioneer I am not sure.

Charles, retail on the Alpine is about $800 for the processor. It should be a nice piece and can be used with any headunit. The Pioneer- I have no idea what retail is on it though I have one myself. You have the use the DEX-P9 to control the DEQ-P9 processor.
The Alpine is supposed to have infinitly adjustable crossover points where as the Pioneer has fixed preset points.
The Alpine has a awesome DAC section in it, but to use it, you need to have a digital source- Alpine only has one deck this year that has digital outs. The Pioneer has a an awesome DAC section as well- 2 24 bits and 1 1 bit for the sub.
The Alpine has a DIN sized display for the hide away brain while the Pioneer is controled with a remote control from the head unit.
