Hello. it's hard to decide which one is better. I don't care about the outer apperance even though i think Alpine looks better=). Anyway, please help me with this. Which would be better? Alpine DVA 5200 or Panasonic CX-DV1500? Pleae explain why you think one is better than the other. Oh,, I got a Alpine CVA-1000. I can use Panasonic or other brand name DVD unit with CVA-1000, right? It doesn't have to be Alpine..am i correct? Please help. Thank you always.. Take care.

I know people with both, and they both agree that the Panasonic is way better.. Not sure why, but if you mail jtowell@xencom.co.uk and tell him Chris K sent ya, he'll be able to supply you with more details on the two...

I am having the same debate myself. I don't know which brand to go with or if there are even any other brands out there no one knows about. I do not like the extremely high prices either. Can anyone help us out there? Surely someone could. Has anyone ever seen an in dash hide away LCD Monitor? not radio or CD player, just Monitor? about a 6.4" maybe? I can hook you up if your interested.

I have the alpine dvd and love it. I haven't used the panasonic or even seen it used much,so I can say yea or nea. I do know that the cva -1000 does not control the dvd, but it will show the movies. It's also a trick to get it to do that. I would recomend the newer cva-1005 as it will control the dvd player and the screen looks twice as nice than the older cva-1000.
