the best thing to get would be the Pioneer FM mod. XM receiver, works really good.

I sold one of those Pioneer FM Modulated XM Tuners and put it in a Escalade with is factory Bose deck, it sounded really good for being FM Modulated and the best part is 100 channels for $10 a month. Check and see if your Kenwood is Cirrus compatiable. Cirrus is basically the same as XM. The Pioneer XM Tuners plug into the Pioneer head units through the changer port so maybe a Cirrus tuner would plug into your Kenwood.

The best thing for you to do is go with the Sony plug-n-play unit. You can just get an adapter that changes the cassette adapter to RCA. You can then use one of your auxiliary inputs on your Kenwood for XM. It will sound a lot better than using RF. That's the way I have mine set up with the Alpine CVA1005. Works like a charm and sounds great.
