Have had it in for a few days now. Switched from a Panasonic dvd h/u. I previously used an Eclipse 8443 and I just can't find my magic settings on the CD5000. I've been slowly adjusting since I've had it in and I'm starting to get frustrated.

It sounds 'alright' but I just can't get the bass right. Aarrrghhhh!!! Sorry, just had to vent.

what do you mean "get the bass right?"

I had the 8454 which is the exact same thing i'm pretty sure.

And now I have the 7100 and i had them both sounding nice

check your crossover settings on the subs I bet you have them crossed over too high.

Also make sure your using the non fader ouputs [Smile]

I have it crossed over at 63hz with the slope at 24db. Set the sub level to 2 which seemed about right, before my port loosened up.

is the xover on the cd5000 fully adjustable, or is it more like the older 5423 (like i used to have) where you can set it to either 100hz or 63hz?

I used to use the old standard of crossing it over at 80hz, but after going back and forth between the two I honestly didn't see much of a difference.
