Alpine 7894 (new models of Alpine due in March, so I dont know if I should wait) Pioneer deh8400mp Any others I should look at? I want a good bit of toning options and some good 4 way power, that is why I was leaning towards Alpine (27x4!) Any others? -------------------- 88 Silverado RCSB, 5/8 on 20's, shaved the f*** up, tinted, notched, but still not quite painted DiRtY SoUtH DEAF SqUaD http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/2094089

Do you want normal CD or MP3? You should check out the new Eclips one aswell. Looks awesome and I'm sure it'll perform that way too. -------------------- -

Eclipse has mp3 decks coming out(well under $450), or you can get their new 5 volt with internal power for like $380. I would venture to say it will sound better than others in its price range(and many outside its price range). As for the "toning" options, you may find, with an eclipse, that it sounds pretty damn good right out of the box. The local shop, whenever they install eclipses, rarely have to mess with them much at all. When they do installs with other brands that customers bring in(pioneer, alpine, etc), there seems to be alot more tuning going on. I, for one, prefer to not have to mess with my head unit much at all. I remember a guy on 1 of the forums like a year ago saying how he got his new head unit(pioneer I believe), and he talked about tuning it for FOUR HOURS in the Texas heat to get it to sound just right. Um, to me, having to tune a deck for 4 hours is NOT a good thing. Just my opinion, I could be wrong. -------------------- 2002 Honda Accord SE sedan RF 8250 W/Sirius satellite JL Audio 300/4 amp JL Audio 500/1 amp Dynaudio 220 components JL 12W6V2
