Right now i got an older clarion (i think Dz7675) or somthing like that. It was one of the best you could get about a year n a half ago, but anyways. I now have a pretty nice system with 2 RE Se 12's in an Sql box (ported of course). Well my hu cant take the vibration and skips like mad and i cant take it anymore. So i will take any suggestions on what HU to get, a lot of people say alpine because they never skip but is there anything else. I am looking to spend 100-300 bux for one, but i really dont wanna buy off of e-bay cuz i hate waiting. Oh i dont know if this means anything but i am not going to go into comps i dont think, i just have it for a very good street beating system.

Eclipse decks come with a memory buffer and are VERY hard to make skip. My Eclipse CD8051 has skipped maybe 2-3 times in over a year(and that is on some very rough roads with VERY dirty discs). Oh, they sound excellent too [Embarrassed] )

the top of the line for Clarion always has 9 in the begining, the 7675 was third from the top, but a good deck

Eclipse!
I have a Eclipse 8051,and it has never skipped.
I had a Kenwood that cost me $600 and it would skip with the volume on 13.(2 18's and 2 bd1000's were the cause)

My eclipse is in a 4x4 and it has seen some rough times,i have had it over a year, and to this day it has not skipped.

Check out the new 2003 model Rockford Fosgate headunits. Aside from their cool blue and black look, here are some impressive features:

3 sets of 8V preouts at 50ohm impedence each
Detachable face
MP3 playback
80Hz low-pass filter
Digital Tuner
*and more*

EDIT: The headunit model number is RFX9420

Rumor has it that Eclipse makes the Rockford headunits! [Eek!]
