Always sorry to read that kind of crap. I know how it feels. Gotta get sharks with frickin' lasers in a tank in the trunk for the next install.

Always sorry to hear these reports. One question: Did you have a alarm?
Check out my post thread in 'auto security' titled: 'Alarm Success Story and other theft prevention tips from a alarm installer, Must Read'. Be better prepared with a 'custom' alarm system and give em hell!!

well you see i used to have alarms on all my cars but i never really went to bad neighborhoods unless i wasnt gonna be gone long. plus the alarm that was on the accord was the biggest piece of junk that i ended up ripping it off because one day it prevented the car from starting up... and ive installed alarms plenty of times before, this by far was one crappy alarm!
i also made the mistake of trusting my brothers judgement and leaving equipment that was mine in his car.
the think that pisses me off the most is that they not only took my linear power 2.2hv which ill never see again but those fudgin guys took my more then 10 years old leather jacket! damn i miss my jacket..... i mean come on not the mans JACKET! Posts: 2730 | From: Clark,NJ | Registered: Sep 2000

sorry to hear man!! believe me, I fell your pain.
got the serial # for that 2.2? post it! Call up TIPS and let them know it got stolen. That way if they break it (which they probably will if they don't know how to use it), Ray & Jimmy will have it in the system. Ray = the lawr
They are good about that stuff 601.932.8477 (damn that's sad I know the number by heart )

i feel your pain man. Last week my neighbor right across the street had his subs and amp stolen. They didnt get the HU but they took a V12 Alpine amp and two Pioneer 10s, and they even left all the wiring tore up hanging out of the hatch. Then last night, my gurl's car got robbed in front of her house in the driveway. She lives in a really nice area and usually crime is low, but they stole her Pioneer flip-face cd player and a neon she had around it, and tore her dash really bad (snapped all the woodgrain, busted the mounts, etc). Im just glad they didnt take the whole car considering we just put 17in. American Racing chrome rims on it and custom Eurolites.

i wish i had my serial numbers, but thank god i still have my modded dpsq50 which is broken, figures...!
but i guess this is why i dont own the honda accord anymore. i drive a 1973 chevy c30 crew cab. no one would ever try to rob that thing... it would take too much energy just to climb into it and see whats in it.
i never thought id get robbed but i guess it happens to all of us at one point.

i always thought people were just wasting money on alarms and all this security stuff for cars...until i got jacked the first time and i started to see my friends getting their stuff jacked, and now i can totally understand and justify why i dropped over 500 bux on a alarm. Its really worth the peace of mind and comfort. I know that someone could get around it if they really did try, but around where i live, its mostly crackheads breaking windows, pealing locks, etc and if someone wants my equipment THAT bad, they can have it...i'm covered for up to 10k if they can get past the alarm:)

Yeah, I know about that pain too. I thought nobody was gonna jack my stuff. I thought it was just way too crappy for them to jack. I had an "xtreme soundz" HU that came w/ 2 6x9s for $40 at walmart. I never took the faceplate off b/c I figure'd nobody would want that POS. But then one day it got stolen. I was like "WTF Mate?" They didn't take anything else...not the 18s in the trunk. not the amp. and it's not like they didn't know it was there...if you cut the wires from the back of the HU, and then you pull the RCA's outta the back of the HU, you'd figure those RCA's go somewhere...but I guess they didn't have time to get into the trunk and whatnot. They didn't even break out the big window on the side, they went for that little back corner piece that doesn't move. That's like the 2nd most expensive window on the entire car, $350 to get that replaced. Pissed me off like crazy. I ended up selling the car instead of getting the window fixed. I now have a better car w/ an alarm. I just miss that CD player, it was sooo great to me. Right in the parking lot to my apt. It's like 30 feet away from my window and I hear nothing and see nothing, neither did any of the neighbors, and the cops said that there was no way that they could trace who did it, so it was pointless for them to even come out there. Insurance deductible is $500, and I wasn't gonna pay $500 to get back my $40 cd player. Man, the world sucks...

Over the years now, I cant begin to add up the stuff I have had stolen. Amps, subs, enclosures, cell phones, even had my alarm stolen before. My problem is, I used to believe I could build the most rockin 145dB convertible there was. I still think I can, but lets face it, you cant protect a convertible. And stuff gets stolen. So I am back to hard tops, and dang it all, I still cant seem to build a 145dB system yet. I think I am there now though, I hope. Will find out next weekend.

Interior radar motion sensor or dual zone radar (exterior and interior). Exterior warns them away with voice or chirp when they approach. Interior goes off instantly, even if you leave your window down and they reach in! They are not that expensive.
I have dual zone with Viper voice warn away "Protected by Viper, Stand Back". If they try to make entry and my shock does not catch it then the interior radar motion will. I have 4 sirens (2 inside, ADT piezo and 6 tone 130dB multi tone and 2 outside home security sirens 30 watts with a strobe inside). I almost truely feel sorry for them!
I am very obsessed with security therefore I work in the field as a self employed Security Alarm Tech (Alarm Detection Protection). I am very educated in the field and can make a thief's worst nightmare come true!!

I saw that show also. I do agree, but I will make it as difficult for them as possible!
I would like to see a invention that locks or 'digs' into pavement to prevent tow offs! If there is a way for them to take it, then there is a way to stop them! Security and theft always try to outwit eachother. Always has been and always will be!
I would drill with a big masonary bit a hole into driveway cement, put in the biggest screw eye hooks I can find, find the biggest strongest chain and lock it with the biggest strongest padlock possible. All four tires!!! If they try to cut, then my exterior radar will be triggered and I will hear it and come out with my 16 ga semi auto. I know that's at home, but I would try to do it at work also and hope that no one parks there before me.
I would like to set something like that up where ever I park, but I have to think and ponder how. If anyone else has some suggestions, let's hear them!!

Yeah - I know. If they want it - they will take it. I had one of those microwave sensors in my car once - one of my convertibles even. It was a pain in the butt to set correctly. Over sensitive and the rain sets it off. Not sensitive enough and the entire interior isnt protected. And since it is just a black box that must be exposed, connected to the alarm brain box via a single wire - cut the wire and no more sensors. I know - thats what they did. And I learned something about my alarm I have now yesterday. I poppedthe hood on my car and checked the oil and fluids yesterday while I was home, and when I closed the hood - the alarm went off. Seems that the hood can be popped while the alarm is set and it doesnt do anything. Great - pop the battery and horn and poof - instant access (except that doesnt work on my car - as I have backups of those things - but still).
Yeah - if they want it - its theirs - and the only thing we can do is be cautious with our stuff and carry insurance. I always park in the garage, in a lot ONLY if I have to (grocery store and etc), and I am NEVER without the coverage I need. Lessons learned here - the hard way.

Hood lock and pin switch! You have to be very careful while setting the microwave radar. I have a toggle switch to shut off exterior for rain, etc... Set the interior only to flood interior and not outside at all.
