Now, of course, i have and never will steal anything but couldnt they just use a cro bar and lift the subs straight out of the box?
That is the fastest way possible if their intentions were not to steal the box or if they couldnt.
Bent-up subs don't always work well and they would be really easy to spot. A thief wants something worth their while on the Streets or in their own Car.

screws help ALOT! my room mate just had her system jacked. but i would have to say its her pure stupidity! first off. her drivers door window track is messed up and you just have to simply touch it and it falls down. and well shes got an alarm but the trunk wasnt protected. they just pushed the window down reached down poped the trunk release and riped the wires outta the amp and just lifted the equipment out. gone WITH NO NOISE AT ALL. they got away with 2 15inch alpine tpye Rs in thier sealed boxes and a jbl bp1200.1 amp. and of course nothing was screwed down expect the subs into the box. but nothing actualy securing them to the car. i instaled the system and alarm in her car but of course she kept rushen me so basicaly everything was just instaled ASAP and just functioning. i told her to leave the car with me sometime so i could secure everything. needless to say she never did. and the worst part was she never told me about her jacked up window until the system was jacked. if it wasnt for the window being jacked it would all still be thier!!!!!! at least her car is fully insured so shes filing a claim and all those goodies. we will see if she actualy gets much.......

Then they would risk bending the basket on the sub that wouldnt help them out. I had some stuff jacked one time they didnt get anything but the stock cd player and about 100cds most were burned but i didnt tell the cops that lets see thats a good $1000 that i havent sent for plus the stock cd player went for a good 400 dollars so them stealing you sh@t can help u esp. if u buy off the internet yea they stole my power Hx2 15" subwoofer or better yet My TRF 15" sub and the two 1501bd amps i had HEHE. that would be great to try

My worst experience was when I first just got my lisence, I didn't really know anything about car audio or anything, and I had a tight car and looked flashy. didn't think to realize someone was going to try to break in, but when I woke up in the morning to find my window smashed, and blood on my seats, and a couple of cd's that were taken. I hate it when theives break into your car, and they don't get anything, and you have to buy a new window on top of that!!

Hey, I have a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it received it's third system earlier last year. The Box is part fiberglass, part mdf, and mostly heavy (~100 lbs @4 cu ft). I am worried about theft obviously, but my father is extremely picky about what I do to the car, which means no drilling for bolts or anything like that. I was wondering if there was anywhere I could attach a large metal chain or something to the box. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Then set the shock sensor for a good punch to the glass, not a bird sh*t dropping. I also installed a second mini piezo siren in the interior... real ear piercing. When my alarm goes off I know it's the real deal not some stupid false alarm.
Agree 100% Very wise advice!!

Im glad I live in a small town, we never have problems with theft around here, I usually leave my car unlocked. Even if someone did steal my stuff its such a small town, so I would be albe to find out who did it. Plus I have a car with a trunk, so they are gonna have to get that open before they can get to any of my stuff (except HU, but mine is such a POS I wouldnt be to pissed if someone stole it.)

well i have recently removed everything from my truck to put in my room but i wasnt worried about anything getting stolen because for one the boxes were wedged in side by side and it took 4 people to put them in like that plus i had different heads and size screws in each hole of the subs and each sub had different screws then the other subs also in order to get the boxes out of my truck you would have to remove the whole big bench seat and the amp was bolted down with a security bolt that was recessed and hidden under the amp and it would also take two people to remove (one under the truck to hold the nut and one to turn the bolt from inside the truck) the bolt and nut were different sizes too and the amp had to be opened to get to the bolt and the amp was hidden under and behind the subs boxes and the hu was bolted from behind with two big bolts and the whole dash would have had to been removed to get to them it sure took me awhile to put all that in there it didnt take nearly as long to get it all out but it still took all day with three of us working on it to get it out
