HAHAHA! That's great! I had my 15" ported box sitting on the driveway, behind my Jeep one day. I was playing Rosa Parks pretty loud when one of my dogs walked up and put it's face into the slot port. When that first bass note hit, I couldnt stop laughing! I dont think that dog got within 50 feet of my speakers again.

You think that was funny, dig this. I let my son barrow my car box, with two 12s, and a 4" port in it, for his room. Well the first few days it was fine, pounding like hell. Then about the 4th day the subs started whinning, and distorting. Oh did I mention we have a cat, well, the cat, full grown now, some hoe had climbed into the sub box, via the 4" port. How the the hell, we looked down into the port, and yep, there were a pare of freaked out eye balls looking up at us. We had to remove one of the 12s to get her out, and she has never been the same. Every time she hears a loud noise, her eyes bug out, and she goes nuts, and runs and hides. I aint never seen nothing like that, I ended up putting a 5 1/4 grill over the port. Have a good one, its on our cat. LOL

TeamNoise - I can't stop laughing....I feel bad for your cat though --- that had to hurt.
Thoughts of a cat-in-the-box: "Looks safe, nice and warm, quiet, and no-one can see me" KABOOM KABOOM KABOOM KABOOM "WTF?!, I can't get out, ack....no-more quiet, why won't anyone find me and pull me out?!"
Ber - go get some sleep, you've been talking with the animals again, haven't you?! I thought we cured you of that back in college - must be the beer.....

I used to have a cat 2 years ago. HE died because of age. I used to have a box that was ported and held 2 12" Pro Bass subs. Extremely old subs. Well i took out one and played the other sub like a free air. During that time my cat would get in the box and sleep on the side of where the sub was mounted. One morning I turned on the stereo and the amp turned on, the bass was up so loud the cat freaked out and tore up the cone of the sub and ripped the spider.
Morel of this story is, CATS AND BASS dont get along.

its an aquired taste =) i have 2cats. they both used to freak at the slighest boom. but now "my" cat (only lets me near it) sits on top of my 2 10" speaker box in my room. hehe. doens't like it real loud, but it will in time. funny thing was when i took it out of my room (to garage. wall sockets. hehe). my cat dove off the bed where the box was, but went straight into my cd racks.
anyone ever seen a cat stuck head first in a toilet? haha. curiousity almost drowned my cat.

That is because you are making them deaf. I don't like cats anyway.

One night over at a friends house during a long run of GT2 and several cases of beer. we started jamn the stereo well not too long after we got started his cat jumped up on top of on of the spks. Well the cat didnt mind the noise and fell asleep as we got more into the music the cat continued to sleep even as the volume went up well after a few miniutes we noticed the cat starting to move around alittle on the top of the spk . A paw slide off then his head, then another paw........... well he ended up on the floor with the spk grill that he tried to claw to stop himself from falling and a lesson to never sleep on top of the spk's again.
