Is it common for remote starters to interfere with one another or to take control of another unit?
Last year, I had a remote starter installed on my wife's Kia Sorento. Tonight, we had an issue where the Sorento was started, but no one here at home had started it. Neither of us used our remote starter FOBs; nor had either of us physically turned the ignition key.
The Sorento was still locked, nothing was tampered with.
Wasn't sure if someone else's remote starter (Viper from Best Buy for ours) could have interfered with ours and started my wife's Sorento.
Is there a fix? If so, is it easy for an end user w/o garage & limited tools to fix? Or, best to take back to Best Buy?

You probably put it in timer mode. If you press lock and unlock together it will start and run for 30 seconds. Then it starts every 3 hours I think. Look at your owners manual.

Some remote start units also have a temperature sensor. If the temperature goes over or under a predetermined lever, the vehicle will start for cool, or heat the vehicle. Soem units also have voltage sensing to detect the vehicles voltage. If it gets too low, the vehicle will start to recharge the battery.
