Anyone had a problem with a doorlock module on a 92 325? I did an alarm in one. It did not have the factory alarm connector, but I found the same color wires,(blur/red and white/red), at the module. They locked and unlocked with my logic probe, I don't use a regular test light. About 2 1/2 months later, the locks, power windows and sunroof stopped working along with the dome lights. Apparently, the module gives an output to trip a relay that provides power to the windows and sunroof. Other than that, I don't know if my wires may have caused this module to fail.

what alarm/keyless system did you use? because if it's the viper then the door triggers pulse both + and -. so you may have needed to use the relay so that they wouldn't get the + pulse when the other got the - pulse. if that made any sense....
basicly from what i understand you have two wires from the brain one is lock and the other is unlock when you press the lock on the key fob the lock wire sends a - signal and the unlock sends a + signal and you need to use the relay pack that comes with it to stop the + signal going to the car.
then again you could have a diffrent system and this is of no help but thought i would try. GL

i install an acuator in the drivers door for all bmw and mercedes. it takes away all guess work and is very reliable. i learned a very expensive lesson about 10 years ago about vacuum door locks. i don't even take chances anymore.

Mmm...no. That is not how those things work. It will reverse polarity, so if you have a positive unlock/lock and hook the wires up backwards, the only thing that will happen will the doors lock when you press unlock and unlock when you press lock...no need for relay at all.
And visa versa for a negative lock/unlock.
You would need relays if you had to 5 wire the locks, or maybe need to isolate something...but you souldn't have to do that in those cars.

The first unit was an audiovox aps-996. The second was an autopage 720lcd. Both have the same basic outputs for lock and unlock as the vipers. The wires I connected to are not the reverse polarity ones. They trigger with a positive pulse. If they had been reverse polarity, my locks never would have worked and I probably would have fried the brain for the alarm.
