I'll Start with Sorry for the long post. This should keep you busy for awhile.

What I am trying to accomplish is to operate the factory keyless entry from my wifes truck with the remote from an alarm/keyless entry that I plan on putting in my Bronco. I have not purchased a unit yet, because I am trying to find the least amount of hardware to accomplish this.

The Bronco is a 93 with power locks. I would like a simple alarm with park light flash/ dome light/KEYLESS ENTRY. I would also like to be able to roll down my rear window.

My wifes truck is a 97 Chevy with keyless entry. 2 button remote(unlock driver button 1/ unlock all button 1 twice/ lock all button 2)

I would like to retain the factory keyless entry in the chevy to minimize expense, but so far I have heard its not possible. Also, I have considered adding an add on remote/autostart to the factory system.

I will be doing the install myself and I am looking to do this as cheaply as possible. This system is more for convenience than security.

P.S. Can you controll a rolling code garage door opener with an alarm remote

Thanks in advance

I have not heard of any instances where you can control a factory keyless system with an aftermarket remote. The first problem there is almost all aftermarket systems use some sort of random code hopping, which the 97 GM does not. Second I'm sure teh frequencies aren't even close, judging from the average 20ft of range you get from the factory.

You can probably get away with adding the remote starter from the same manufacturer as the aftermarket alarm, and have the one remote do both vehicles.

As far as your garage door most alarm companies make garage door interfaces to use your alarm remote with.

Omega makes a universal remote. Kind of like a universal TV remote. I will work on most code jumping systems, only problem is you may have to press 2 or 3 buttons in order to make it work. It will work two different systems. with 4 channels on each system.
