how many sirens can a 550ESP handle if I was to splice them into the existing wires of the first siren? would it be best to add relays instead?

Not sure on this model, but I have powered 3 sirens off of 1 system without the extra relay. Although this was probably not a good idea. Relays don't cost much. If you need wiring directions let me know.

I would be interested in knowing this too. Although $3 bucks isn't much to pay for insurance (i.e. a relay) to ensure that the circuit isn't overloaded.

Quadzilla: What alarm did you splice siren outputs on?? Just curious...

Andrew.

hey, thanks for the info! the wiring directions would be great. I'm thinking of hooking up 4 sirens total in my car. inside/front, ouside/front, inside/back, outside/back. the interior ones would be up in the dash pointing at the driver and one in back mounted inside the amp rack. by any chance do you know if a full size viper siren "hurts" more than one of those special interior peizo ones that viper makes?

oh, btw, for u other SUV owners, I was able to hook up two prox sensors in my 4runner since the back is kinda hard to cover. they don't interfere with each other and it still chirps when you try to look inside. so it IS possible! just takes a while to calibrate =)

I have the viper 550 with 3 sirens and two of those peizo sirens in the dash without a relay. It hurts REALLY bad when it goes off. Take those peizo and wire them up under the dash and they are loud as ever if someone tries to hot wire car! They sound like a dying bird! I also have seen people take there vents apart and install them in the side of the vents, kinda like a horn load, might be louder! For how cheap they were I am getting more and putting them everywere. I would recommend a battery backup they don't do you much good if someone cuts battery.

hmm, cool. thanks moneybag. I think I might wire up the 3 sirens I have right now, and also add a piezo or two.

ok, I have another question. ok, well I have a police siren and I was thinking of making it honk that air horn on the warn away or something >=) does anyone know if that's illegal?

oh, I realized that that sounded bad. well, I don't have the siren installed. I was thinking about installing it to use with the alarm if it's legal. well, thanks!
