I have an aladdin 2000. I know I have and accesory wire, two ignition wires, and a start wire. The alladin only have 1 ignition output so I know I have to wire a relay. There is a diagram in the back of the install manual so that is hooked up right, but it still wont work! WTF! What do I do now? How would I check to see if the relay is working properly? If my theory is right I should get a 12V in each wire for a short amount of time when I press the remote start buton but I get nothing in any of the wires. And yes the 12V power to the relay is plugged in. Does the relay have to be grounded? If so which wire? HELP!

Is the relay clicking when you press the button? You need IGN out on alarm on 85 and ground on 86, 12V to 30 and the output (12V) is pin 87.

the diagram aladdin has is wired differently but hey I guess ill go try that. The brain is clicking but the relay itself is doin jack squat.

How does the Aladin manual say to wire it? I heard that alarm is all show, high on gizmos but short on performance.

You did not say what kind of car you are trying to put this in to that is very important?

I am putting it into a 88 CRX Si standard. There isnt a clutch sensor in this car thats makes sure the clutch is disengauged before the key can be turned. The manual sayd to wire every thing the same excepts for the ground and power wires are opposite.

It makes no difference as long as 85 and 86 are treated as separate circuits from 30 and 87. You could hook thos pair of wires of opposite from what I said and have it work. If there is a neutral safety wire that must show ground to remote start you need to ground that to have it remote start. Do you have a link to the install manual, that would help me figure this out.

The first thing that I would do is to make sure that the relay is putting out +12 volts. To do this use your DMM and put the red wire coming from your DMM on the output wire from the relay. When you activate the remote start you shoud get a +12 volt reading when the ignition wires are activated during the remote start sequence. If you don't get this than it is the relay. Another way to wire the relay would be to give 86 and 87 +12 volts. 85 is the output wire that you are using from the remote start and 30 would be the wire that goes to the ignition wire in the car.

Also another thing that I thought of is it could be the tachometer input if you are using one. If none of your ignition wires or starter wire are getting +12 volts than it probably isn't just the one relay. I know that on the DEI remote starts that the tachometer has to be learned to the brain itself before the remote start will work. Also check your power and ground connections. Make sure that you are grounded in the kick panel and not on the steering column.
