I bought a Clifford Arrow 3 today. I am going to install it into a 92 Nissan 240sx as soon as I have time. I have a few questions. First and least important (because I'll find out soon enough, but incase someone knows offhand) I know the actuator (act) in the passengers side is cool (unlocking drivers side triggers passengers side act) it looks like there is an act in the drivers side also. The one on the drivers side would only function as a switch presently. I was told that I can tap into this act and use it. True? Next I need suggestions on what solenoid well work best for my trunk. Ok I'll explain that I bought the system from a local small time dealer. I got a good deal because it was his last cliff and he is moving other brands now. Anyway, there was not a valet switch in the box, I told him no big deal I'd just use a 3 position no latching toggle. I can right? Last I'm curious how well DEIs accessories well work with my system and if I can get the computer link and software for my system. Where is a good place to buy them online. Like I said my dealer has discontinued this line.

actually the valet sitch info you got was wrong-----cliford's arrow 3 used a powere switch with two wires on it that fed 12v and aroun 5 volts depending on which button you were pressing----was a two pad rubber switch----anyway if i remember correctly your lock system is a one wire system----basically if you were to cut the wire in half, the doors would lock-------if you apply ground to this curcuit, it would unlock-----heres the way you would integrate your locks to the clifford alarm if this is in fact a 1 wire system----take a relay,(spdt relay) cut wire in half from door lock system----switch side then would goto pin 87a and the vehicle side goes to pin 30 along with your negative unlock wire from the clifford(gray/orange wire)----take your lock output from the clifford(gray/green) to pin 85----then take a fused (5 amp is sufficient) 12 volt constant(+) wire to pin 86----thats it!!!!!!!------i would verify this vehicle for the locking system it uses first-----ill check on it also---need some time to find out, at least till tomorrow till i get my notes on this vehicle---hope this helps a little

About the valet switch. There is a black wire on one side (-) and a white on the other (switched leg) . I'm assuming. I'm new to electronics and I'm having trouble picturing how I can vary me return signal. Like you say, I need 5V or 12Vreturned. Can I add resistors on the negative leg to divide voltage? If so groovy. Else what? I really want to use a toggle. It'd be a hassle getting the real thing and I don't like the look of the factory switch pictured in the manual anyway. I'll line up identical toggles for fog lights and stuff. Systems gona be sweet when I get her together. Um.. here's a link to Clifford's schematics. They are hard to read online. Not bad if printed but make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat. In fact if anyone ever has trouble printing drawings in Acrobat go to their site and redownload it.

Ok I checked it out today and found that the black wire is 0v but the white caries 5v. So…(scratching my head)…how is this thing communicating? Anyone with any thoughts please let me.
