isn't this the best viper alarm available??

There is no best, it just has more features I believe a 300 could do the same job just as well.

The 550esp is basically a 500esp with the remote start unit included. Viper does have more feature-laden alarms, like the 600 and the 800, but they dont come with the remote start unit.


If you want remote start, get the 550esp. If you don't, and want all the features Viper offers, go with the 800.

I have the 550 esp. I really like it, and if I need something added to it they can always add more channels. Really an alarm is only limited by your installer.

how does it compair to the clifford avantgaurd? its features are at

Yes cliford was bought out by dei. I really like the avantguard, I've seen it in quite a few vehicles. The price is outrageous though. My installer told me around 7-800 installed with minimum options. Yet I got my 550 installed with motion/tilt/shock/windows up down/illuminecent desplay/backup battery, for $480.
