ok, i am an installer for a living, but i've never tried this. mainly because my boss would hang me if i did this on a customer car and anything ever happened! i have a brand new one lying in shop open, and free if i want it. My car is a standard though. it's always parked in neutral, so i'm not worried about that. what i'm thinking is to fool it so that when the E-brake is on, it thinks the car is in park. That really doesn't sound hard to do, but i just wondered if any of you had done this before. I am aware of how to bypass my clutch mechanism, as pressing the clutch simply closes the switch on top, thus i need to + pulse the wire on the cold side of the switch. it's an autocommand by the way...i'm sure you may want to know that...

If you insist on instaling this on your car, although I will say I do not reccomend it, try this, does your car have a light on the dash that indicates the emergency brake is on? If so, then the emergency brake lever/pedal must have a switch on it. Run a constant ground wire to the remote starts hood pin switch wire. When this wire is grounded the remote start will not work. Then find the emergency brake switch output, diode isolate it, using a relay design a normally closed circuit, so that when the e-brake is pulled it opens the relay/circuit, causing the remote start unit to no longer see the ground on the hood pin switch wire, thus letting the vehicle remote start only when the e-brake is set. I hope I said that right. If thats to hard to understand, let me know.

actually, i understand that perfectly. and thats about what i was planning to do actually.....and i have the safety issues cleared up, i tried to start my car in every gear today, and the starter WILL NOT move the car in any gear, much less with the e-brake on.
