in the for sale section of this forum, there was a link to a site that sells it cheap, it was like $99 for 90square feet. I got my sample today, and it seems to be good stuff, it is a little thinner then dynomatt, but i think it'll work just as good.

McMaster-Carr sells the stuff that is the same as Dynamat for about 13 dollars for 12 sqft. I think parts express sells the same stuff also. www.mcmaster.com look for Hitemp Mastic www.partsexpress.com

That's funny I got my sample today. It seems cheap, like tar and plastic put together but I will try it.

Hi everyone. I recently finished my Hi Temp Mastic install. Here's a few tips:
- Get a heat gun...you can purchase them for around $30.
- Heat both surfaces, then apply. I got best results by doing this, rather than heating just one or the other.
- Get some gloves. This stuff can get pretty hot!
- Always know where you set your heat gun down at! I torched myself a few times through negligence!
- Plan on spending many hours doing this. It took me over three days to do the whole interior of my x-cab pickup. Of course, with my sloth-like movement, the average person should be quicker!
- I needed 65 square feet to do the entire interior of a '95 Nissan x-cab PU...just to give you a reference.
- Label or diagram all the parts, screws, bolts, etc. as you take them out! I have a few "extra" screws that I have no idea where they go.

SQ.. they sell that stuff at Auto Zone.. $2 and $4 a can.. there is no difference in the two, i think... wonder why the price difference.. made by the same company. Hmm.. But as far as the undercoating goes..... I couldn't get that smell out of my car for weeks.... Talk about getting HIGH ! Damn.. I felt sick for a few days...
BTW... If you choose to use the spray undercoating... GET A RESPIRATOR !!!!!!!!!

You da man DUKK!! First the blue insulation for sub boxes, and now resin and sand !! What next ? Damn what can you do with Duct tape and chicken wire? Make some subs? LOL Seriously though, I never thought of that. I have heard of using sand mixed with ruberized coating ( the same rubber as on most tool handles) and mixing the two together. Dukk, when the resin and sand are mixed, is it easy to apply? I would like to try some on my rear quarterpanels and want to know if it will slide down or not.

No, fiberglass materials aren't expensive. But, which would you rather have? The mixture adds mass and I would assume a lot of rigidity and is spreadable.
