Dukk thanks for the explanation on parallel wiring. Now if I do it this way and I have 8 ohm speakers, I will now acheive a 4 ohm load, correct? What exactly will happen if I have a 4 ohm load, twice as much wattage? Or am I totally messed up here. Please help.

When you halve the load on an amplifier, you double the current the amplifier can put out. Kinda like replacing your factory 1/2 fuel line with 1"...

If it dont fit, force it... if it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway...

That assums that the amp can take a low load. Right there you have 4 ohms and that should be 0 problem for any amp I know. But going below that is a problems for some amps.

So in essence if my amps running at 45 watts by 2 now it will run at 90 watts by 2. Correct?

Provided the power supply can keep up the current, yes.

Well..will the amp take 4 guage? I assume so if thats what you have going to it now. If so and you can afford it do the biggest wire you car. You are for sure not going to hurt the amp. Might not get a big gain or any at all but its worth the piece of mind if nothing else...
