So im having issues of where to place my memphis 4KW i was thinking about putting it in the bed becuase the box i just built takes up ALLL the room behind the seat. i was wondering if anyone else has done this. i was thinking about running all the 1/0 underneath the truck in some like PVC pipe and cut a hole in the cab for Speaker leads and RCAs then the one in bed for everything to come in. I was going to fabricate a stainless box and put on sensor into it and tie it into my alarm so it doesnt get ripped off as easy. has anyone else done this?

starting the design now. im gooing to make it big enough to hold two Memphis 4kws stackad and two HC 2400s on either side. all in the single enclosure. then have it arma coated for weather proofing. Ill update with pics here.

Why not just buy a tool box and use it. You can seal it off to make it water tight. Bolt it to the truck for theft protection, and most come with locks.
I've seen several people do that. Steven Head (of Audionutz) is currently doing that in his truck.

i dont want it that big. i have already thought of this. i hate the way the tool boxes look. the deminsions will be 50w x 10h x 11 deep. it will be long and tall enough for 2 Memphis 4kws and 1 HC2400.

I run my amps in the bed. I just zip tied all id my power wire and holding for 2 yrs +!!
I have added a shock sensor, glass break mic, extra sirein, and an ear peircing thingy.

How are you going to get heat out of the box, but not let moisture in?

Your right. i didnt think of that. damn mabe i could have mabe a little window and open it when im usding it so there is somewhat air circulation. then have it closed up when its raining or something. Becuase the truck is my daily driver. So i need this to be somewhat practical. Does anyone have suggestion on what i should do for this problem?

maberun a fan that goes to a pipe that runs to the bottem of the box seal it tight and the do have one way vents you can get from home chepo. thats just off the top of my head....

^^True, look up installs with the amps mounted to the ceiling, looks cool and would solve your problem...I believe you just use 2-part foam and just build your ceiling down to flush-mount the amps right into the ceiling (and would need supports installed into ceiling to mount them)....good suggestion, id like to see the finished product

I did it I have a complete cut through in my truck and my amps were to long to lay down across behind my seats. We built shelf and attached it to my box and put my batteries below the shelf and then put the amps on top. It worked great for easy accessability to controls and working on things. I have a bed cover on my truck that is water tight and I have had no issues. And also with being in the open so to speak under the bed cover heat isn't really a problem. We did the same as you said ran wire under the truck and drilled holes to run everything through. If you would like a design just let me know.......

I have my 4-memphis 2500's and 6-kinetik 2400's in my bed with a cover on it also,works out great,we built a false floor with separate amp pedestals so air circulation and heat is no problem.

I did a 04 f150 q cab with the mch1300 in the bed. worked well . just had to water test the bed first then go on and finish the install, the truck is or sale now but I will try and post some pics as well as upgade avater. I am no noob in any way, Have been a Memphis dealer for 6yrs, those 2500's are strap(able)@ 2 ohm, gotta love that! I need to finish my profile, so I will check this post later. If any one knows Mike Petrea, he competed pretty hard, set a record for Ga. I don't have his trophies, but I do have his #, he is a good friend and still lives in Ga. I do not want to considered a noob.. but I am, just be friendly. later..Nate

Mike set a state record in Ga. years ago as you mentioned,He was running matts amps and matrxx quad1.2 or 1.4 can't remember. Anyway, he was a big fan of this site, as everyone helped more than hate. I have about 10 yrs of professional experience, I am a vdirected dealer as well, so if anyone needs some online tech help, i hope I can help out. As far as the amp in the bed, we glassed an enclosure that only exposed the heat sink on the mch1300(memphis amp), bolted to the back wall as used a water tight lid with two locks, looks graet, never had thermo probs, the only con was the distance of power wire, it is only on one m3 10, so that amp was not working hard. I did however had to grond the bed of the truck to the main frame as well as from the batt to the frame, i think it was the exaust giving some miner feed back, it's been in there for three years and nevere had a prob, i will as i said post a pic, business picked up and I keep forgetting, hope this helps.Nate
