What do you guys use as a reference material. I need to replace a head unit and door speakers for a 90ish Honda Civic (or any late model car for that matter). I don't want to ruin my friend's car.

Look carefully for ALL the screws and 'if it don't want to come, don't force it!'
Probably 95% of all install knowledge. When I jump into a new car that I have never worked on before, this is exactly my thinking. There is no magic manual (Well actually there is but the Scoshe Encyclopedia is hella expensive )
My best advice - Ask here. Chances are dozens of guys have worked on that very car and will have all the advice you need!!

I have to agree with Dukk here. You will find just about anything or anyone that has done just about everything. All you have to do is ask, and more than likely, someone will help out. Good luck.
