Although this relates more to Cassette decks (that's analogue to newbies), it may affect CD tuner decks. The head unit may sometimes pick up noise from the tape head or the antenna wire, this is due to radiated noise from an alternator wire passing overhead the deck in F-150's and 'Vettes. The remedy is not noise filters, but a physical relocation of the entire wiring harness passing near the head unit. remove it from it's wire guide sheath, and push it down and away from the head unit's body and wiring, as far as you can. (Than give the customer his noise filters in his hand, and watch the amasement)

Yes we are RDAEX, there are several cars that have that problem. My first experience was the old Honda Civic, 80's style. There, the white alternator wire was "Looped" through the driver's side, out into the engine compartment, than back through the passanger compartment, passing overhead the deck, back to the ignition key. The remedy there was cutting the wire, and re-routing it back the way it came. No more noise, no noise filters.

Ok, this may sound ridiculous... I've wrapped this bundles in aluminum foil and grounded one end of it and effectively eliminated the noise...
