where could I find information about these processors and equalizers?

Would it be better to use two 1/3 octave equalizers and a crossover, than using my audiocontrol and alesis components?

You could check out www.rane.com since they make the USD EQs and crossovers, as well as the Image Dynamic EQ. From talking to some pro sound guys, Rane makes really good stuff. They recommended Rane over "the mid line" MEQ-230- their quote, not mine.

Ive have asked Eric Stevens and Matt Borgardt and both have said that their EQs and XO are not made by rane.
whereas USDs still say Rane on them.

nowhere on any of my ID procesors does it say Rane, both externally or internally.

I'm not here to argue with you, but have you looked at the Rane? It's kind of like looking at the old Audio Control EQT, then looking at the LA sound eqt... same damn cosmetic look, different color. Same exact board, except for 12V power...

STILL waiting to hear a GOOD pair of HLCD's!!

If it dont fit, force it... if it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway...
