I need some 4" that can be used down to 90hz and go up to 5k. so I guess thats full range, kinda. I'll be running around 60-90watts in each. if anyone knows of web sites that sell these types of drivers, could you please post them. thanks!

The single most kickass 4" I have ever met was the RF Power 4". The RF SP-44 was killer too. They actually have enough snot to get a little midbass out of them!

Although not a 4"er, the best small speaker I've heard is the OLD polk mm3510. Huge motor structure on that little beasty, awesome on the lower midrange, and upper midrange was as clear as many larger speakers. Plus, they were $35.00US apiece, couldn't pass them up....

The SP-44P sounded pretty nice too. They've been gone a couple years now, but you may have some luck finding them. Actually, the SP-44, RFA-44, and PWR-44 all rocked.

..oh yeah, one more thing. If you can't find any of these nasty RF 4", try the Pioneer M100 (I think) component 4" mid. They still make them and they are actually pretty decent (but the RFs are better).

I have been told that the RF component's are all very very kick ass. Ratfink told me that like the 6.5 if fed enough power could sound like an 8". so im willing to bet that their 4" would rock the house.

I've always like the Infinity Kappa component midbass "woofers". They take plenty of abuse and sound good too! Also, check out PartsExpress.com they have a couple 5" speakers that look like they're designed pretty well. You can also find Morrel (spelling?) and Dynaudio there at reduced cost. Same with EV subs and JBL stage subs, go figure .

Have to agree with Audiophyle on this one. I would take a Polk MM speaker over a DB one any day. Ever notice that the old Polk MM stuff is made in the USA and the DBs are made in China? Oh well, at least they are still "designed and engineered in Baltimore Maryland".

I think I'm going to put in power windows so that I can go with a bigger midbass. what will sound good from 90 to 4k, very small box. I'd love to go with those 10" JBL pro midbass driver's. check out there specs at www.jblpro.com ther just so expensive.

Ok, that made it to my "favorites" list. Very cool stuff. And in Canada too!!! I had Vifa tweeters in my Tempo. I guess that's where API got them from at the time. My mind is overflowing with ideas........This may get a little messy.

I used to have a set of the Clif Designs 5 1/4 seperates, I liked them a lot. But being young and dumb, I sold them to get my horns (I can imagine the can 'o worms that I just opened up ).
How are the new CD Technologies speakers?

I never cared even a little for CD speakers... sorry... and we all know how I feel about horns... although, that has changed slightly. I now agree that horns can make a component set sound flat, or 2D, however, I still need to hear a set of horns that come close to the SQ of a component set.

Just curious about how they sound. The marketing scheme and website seem shady to me. Maybe because they dropped off of the face of the planet and now they are back better than ever.
I liked them better than my Quarts and ID Horns. But my ID midbasses are still pretty darn good. Trying to find a way to make some Morel's work in my car.

Try to find a set of last years Diamond Hex 4s. Those things are good. The new ones are different, made in China, sound worse, etc.
