Would putting mid bass drivers and Component set in front kick panels be a bad idea? I have a pair of Kicker SSMB6's that are BNIB. I would love to use them but would like some guidance as to whether or not this would be a good or bad idea. Thanks

if you are not willing to cut and give the driver the proper amount of airspace and proper placement then you are wasting your time...Minimizing PLD's is very important thing to do..but requires allot of work to do it right

By kickpanels I meant front doors. I guess I may have used the wrong term. But I am going to remove the little cubby on my door that people usually napkins and stuff in and I will be fabrication some kind of baffle. I could probably make a "box" or "kick" to place on the door but what would be proper airspace for a 6.5 comp and a kicker ssmb6? Would i want to do two seperate chambers?

most if not all car audio drivers are designed to work free air...and also the last thing you want to do is place multiple drivers playing different freq out of the door....
a 2way installed properly with a sturdy baffles and well damped door will give you plenty of output..it really comes down to installation just not adding more speakers...
and the term kick panels refer to the area down buy your feet under the dash...this is were allot of SQ comp cars place their speakers....

Ok thanks for clearing up the terms for me. I wasn't sure if I was using the right term even when I initially typed it. But yeah, well should I just run the mid bass in the back doors then? or just forget them and use two way speakers? Sorry for the numerous questions but I want my next setup to sound much better than my current one.

Don't put the midbasses in the rear doors. It's going to drag your imaging to the back. (ideally you want bass to uppermidbass up front, subtle low end behind you)
