I have been a big OZ audio fan for going on 10 years now but the new line of subs are not for me. I have a one and only 250L D6 left over from many years ago. I plan to use it in a large vented box behind the rear seat of my crew cab F250. The box I have designed up will not hold anything deeper than this 250L and being this is the only one I have and I cant seem to fine anymore, what would I replace it with if Something happend to it? I have 3 brand new JL 10W3 D6 subs but there just way to deep to go behind the rear seat. Any help would be great. I have been out of Audio for some time now so im not up on the new stuff.
Thanks Mike

to be honest...it's very unlikely you'll find another d6 version (especially in good/new condition). decent little subs...sounded good just weren't popular in that odd coil configuration. i believe JL pretty much owned that department.
the 250L's can be found easy though if something were to happen to the d6 just straight swap it out for a different 250L.
They made some with small magnets....
are you stuck on dual 6 ohms??

Nah, I would rather have the older 250L svc. I wish I could find some new subs that someone had in the boxes in the back of the shop. LOL I did a ton of research last night and found that Diamond audio subs are not a bad choice. The mounting requirement are not far off from the 250L. Any thoughts on the diamond audio subs?

not a bad choice. I'm partial to the older stuff personally...not really fond of any newer diamond gear. Dont' know how the new sub's mounting depth compares to the old stuff tho...?
I'd look into the old diamond "macdaddy" subs. them little guys packed a punch. the 12"s pop up on ebay kinda often. Not too sure of the 10"s(?)...wouldn't hurt to keep an eye out.
any old "superman" series oz (from the d6 era, oz logo was the superman symbol) would be a good choice. They don't get loud, but they sound good.
If you found some other 250L's what would you do with the d6?

The older diamond series 200L and 250L are awesome subs. They do have a great sound and they can be made to be loud in well designed 6th order bandpass boxes. I had four 200Ls in in a 6th order bandpass ported into the cab of a little pickup, and it was louder than anything around here. I sure miss those days when I could cut up my truck. LOL I cant cut this 05 cew cab F250.
Im going to hang on to all my oz stuff being you cant get it anymore. I missed a 250L for $10 on ebay last week. I should have been watching it better. I have a ton of older audio stuff new in the boxes. I have some Power 500.2s, a Power 650, the JL 10W3 d6s, 4 stroker 15s, along with a ton of other stuff. I think the older stuff just sounds better.

*fixed*
old old old box for 4 250L's. for being a little sq sub they can get decently loud. wouldn't ever expect that box like that to go over 145....

Awesome. Again I think Older is better when it comes to subs. What was that box in? I had a buddy that had four 250Ls in a 6th order behind the rear seat of a extra cab toyota truck and it would knock you silly with matalica. LOL We need to stop talking about these 6th order bandpasses before I start cutting on my truck. LOL

lmfao...lil plasma cutter won't hurt nuttin all the bracing you'd need can be made with a bandpass.
oh yes we're on the same page with the older subs...they just don't make 'em like they used too. 250 watts per sub is all the lil guy needed to get movin!
ya know i've gotta recommend elitecaraudio.com or carsound.com. you'll get a better response there than here....a lot of the guys here just don't understand
anyway that box was built for an old blazer. back then it did knock something silly.
ooooo man...in that F250 :halo: plenty of room to toss 10"s in the doors oh oh, or 2 6"s in a compound loaded bandpass per door with about 500watts per side
don't fight it...
you can't resist.

The plasma would screw up the paint so I would have to go with a cut off wheel. LOL JK. I cant cut this truck. Now that you say something about it the doors could house some nice size subs. I dont want to get that involved with this system as My next project will be my touring 67 camaro. It will not be a huge system but it will be setup for SQ. I plan to mod the front firewall to hold some 10" for mid bass and use some CD2 horns under the dash. Old cars are pefect for horns as the dash is high and the bottom is straight across.

Well I have picked up two Very nice condition 250Ls. Now I need to figure out how to get two of them behind the rear seat of my Crew cab F250. LOL There is just no way to get 2.5 cu ft behind the rear seat without doing a fiberglass box or something.
