I just fully tuned a car for a guy who is going...I'd like you to listen to it and see what you think.

I was planning on going, but decided today to spend the money on equipment instead of the show. I also found out that Alabama is probably going to have about 15 MECA shows this year, so I'm going to stay local this year.
We actually had 18 SQ competitors at a local 2x (all MECA shows are 2x) competition yesterday. SQ is growing in Alabama in an amazing way.
And no changes is why I am going big with everything.

I love it...lol, haven't tested yet, but I think my car might be loud.
But I think I might be the only person who thinks the higher in classes you go, the higher cap should be. Play music with the mic in the seat...

I have my first show under these rules on the 30th. It will be interesting to see what happens.
I'll have Dynaudio MW170's----not exactly output kings Buwalda Hyrbrid 3's---it's a frikken 3" Tweeter--who knows what brand---won't matter it will be blown either way afterwards. Image Dynamics ID12 sub.
I'm trying to isolate the one note in the song that will give me the highest SPL reading so I can just burp it and hopefully cut it off before damage is done. My rta will look like a ski slope on both sides of that note---but nothing with more than a 3db variance.
Dumbest rule ever.
I do agree with Winslow though, if you are going to have SPL, that as the classes go up so should the requirement. Expert should be flat out unlimited.

If you are competing in anything but rookie why would it matter if you have a 3db variance?? your not doing the RTA...or did they change that too?

All street does RTA. The no change rule is between RTA and SPL. You can make changes between SQ and RTA/SPL judging. So you go from pink noise to a bass track with no changes.
Are the MW 170s in yet? Let me know how they sound in your vehicle. I will second the output statement. I haven't done anthing with the horns yet (too much work - I mean my paying job). The sub enclosure and amp rack are moving slowly. Hopefully I will be finished in time for some of those Alabama shows.

I think the 170's are going to take some work to get in the door, and will probably be better served in the kicks. Because of that, I haven't really had time to try to get them in. I've been working on a new head unit, new amp rack, and the "proper" wiring for IASCA. Hopefully after the Jimmy's show on the 7th of May, I'll have more time to do some testing with the 3's in the apillar and the 170's in the kick.
Nifty new head unit:
Alpine IVA-W200. It controls the 701. The color is off and I'm trying to find an exact match, but not having much luck. Although I am finding every version of the color "medium parchment" that doesn't match. Also it looks like there is a gap in the corner in that picture---but there isn't. It is a shadow. When I saw the picture on line, I went back and looked, and it isn't there.

I listened to George's Scion on Sunday. That is a very nice system. It sounds incredible. I loved it. The install, the sound--everything. You did a good job on the tuning Eastcoast.
The only thing was the passenger door resonates on some notes---but it is minor and seems to only be in the 63-100(maybe 120) range. It is very frequency dependent.
My truck is so F'd up in the midbass region that I feel stupid even mentioning that about his though.

It sounded great as evidence by getting 2nd place in the sunday round.
I liked it a lot...had good slam and impact. Not typical DLS sounding car.
