Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to bridge my amp??
Its a JBL bp600 powering a perfect10.

On the amp are speaker outputs + - | - +
Can you only bridge this amp when you have two subs observing normal polarity or can you do this with one sub crossing polarity
(im not sure if im confusing myself)

Also, while im setting the amp up ive got 3 dials
Input level - 4V - 250mv
LPF Freq - 32Hz - 320Hz
Bass boost - 0db - +6db

INPUT LEVEL - ive sorted out. (turn up the vol of the h/unit to 3/4 then turn up the input until you hear distortion
then back a little) Is this correct??

LPF - i cant notice any sound difference! not sure why

BASS BOOST - obvious... i think

Is there specific settings or order you should use or is it up to your ears???

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Vanessa.

Generally speaking, you use the left + and the right - to bridge an amp. Are you using 2 subs? If so, you need to check the owners manual to determine the best wiring scheme to keep your amp from burning up. The LPF adjustment on your amp sounds like a low paff filter, it will adjust the point at which the subwoofer crossover is set. Generally, you will listen to the system and adjust it to where it works best in your car. Start at about 80hz and work your way down gradually.

Hi,

Is this the BP600.1? If so, I think the
AMP in mono. So I don't think it is bridgeable unless noted in the manual. However you can power another perfect10
using the second set of terminals.

Good Luck.

Is the JBL amp you describe a Power Valve BP-600.1? If so, I believe it only has one output for the sub. (not sure haven't seen one first hand) If that is the case you can't bridge the amp. Could the other + - be the power input and ground for the amp? If your amp is that Power valve, it should be stable to 1 ohm. (According to their advertisement in crutchfield anyway.) So you could get 3 more of those subs and wire all four in parallel to get a 1ohm. This would pull a more power out of that amp.

Audiophiles right on (as usual) with the low pass filter.

The input level - is that the gain? If so that's what I did with my RF amp.

Hope this helps,
Steve

That's correct. The Power Valve has an extra set of speaker terminals to help with parallel hookup.
