Ok I have two spl 12's. I am looking at either a mmatsD300 or a Usa300x. Which is a better amp, that puts out more clean power. And also will i lose any sound quality going with mmats because I have heard they aren't as clean as class A/B amps, like USamps. Also any other suggestions for good sq amps for subs would be appreciated. Thanks

You think going with the Usa300x will give me an audible difference over the mmats, considering the amp will be pushing subs. because the D300 is only $420 and thats all I would like to spend but if the U.S. amp is THAT much better sq wise I will fork over the extra $150.

I exagerated the price on the U.S. amp i can get it for the exact price of $589(plus shipping). I don't know if my alternator can handle it. I have a 87 BroncoII. What do you guys think, can it handle it or would i need a new alternator? So out of all the amps out there are the U.S. amps one of the better quality amps on the market?

N2Deep, if you're going for sq, I wouldn't use those ss spl12s....I ran three ss spl10s in .78 ft^3 boxes for a few days and they definatly serve their name....spl. IMO...they weren't very musical. I'd take the spls back and buy a pair of exacts if you were gonna stay w/ss.

yes koolade, i know i wanted two 12 inch exacts very bad, but I went with the spl's to save money. Does anyone have a mmats? Everyone keeps saying go with U.S.amps, I want to know how the mmats sound, since they are pushing subs distortion shouldn't be as much as a factor, and I wouldn't think you could tell a difference between the two amps. But since i leace in Cali i can't listen to them. So someone help me? Thanks

Hmm N2deep, as you mention those prices you can get those amps for, I am guessing that your are gettin them from an internet site??? Just becareful, most companys wont back up the warranties if you do not buy it from an authorized dealer of some sorts. I was going to get the Mmats from Tms eclectronics.com, but after speaking to the "Griz", he said Mmats would not back up the warranty, because they sold it for so cheap, and that they were going to be cuttin of there supply to them. Just becareful, and make sure you check the warranty situation with the company (us or mmats) before you buy it.

Linear Power TO-3 series. Would you be surprised when a 50 watt Linear Power tore those subs a new one? Because the 3.2 would, and I know where a few are at for really, really good prices.

I wouldn't say don't get it, I've seen some SQ vehicles on just their subs if you keep teh x-over freq. low like 50Hz you won't get teh dirty part of the signal

Why don't you run a sound quality amp thats real powerful like Zapco? Get the AG750 that does 750x1 at 4ohm mono and retails for only $599. Or the AG1000 that retails at $899 and does 900x1.

SQ you say? Anyone else feel like a BigMac? McIntosh!!! Milbert, Blade, Monolith, Tube Driver, Orion HCCA/XTR, Xtant, Zapco, PG, PPI, old school SS Ref series. MTX isn't a bad option either, AS2000 stated that it was the quietest they had ever heard, for THD and noise.
US Amps is a hellishly good choice though. Again, for that price, wow!!! For those prices I'd be tempted to forget about McIntosh, tempted.
Alpine and Eclipse aren't bad, but I'd look into the others first. I've always like Orion XTR and HCCA. Xtant is clean, but realibility issues. PPI, very clean for the price (in comparison in price to Milbert and Macs). PG, same as PPI. MTX/RF - affordable bass machines, but you already knew that.
