i was thinking of getting the cdt hd's 6" component set and get another set of the 6" hd mids for added midbass . i want to put the two mids and the tweeter on each front door . i am just curious if anyone has a setup like this . not necessarily cdt , but any two decent mids and a tweeter in the doors . if so what was the outcome and would you recommend a similar install . thanks .

I believe JL did an install in their car similar to what you just described. Two mids in the door with a tweet. However I think to get your imaging right you need a second set of tweeters on the dash somewhere. Also you need the mids to be as close to each other as possible. Some of these other guys might know the install I'm thinking of and might even have some pics. I remember reading a thread about it on another forum maybe.

I believe the mid-tweet-mid setup is a D'Appolito setup...yes, JL's show car has what looks like that, but the second tweeter set is mounted on the dash on a custom machined aluminum rod.

It's a good idea, but why not try to go with a bigger midbass, like an 8" or 9"?

i might go with a larger midbass , but i dont plan on making kick pannels and im not sure if a 6.5" and an 8" would fit on the same door . i might just end up buying the eurosport comps. , but i like the idea that i could buy the hd set and still have the option later on to buy another midbass . i would get both the eurosports and another midbass , but im not sure if i want to spend that much money . alot of decisions to make . i guess it all depends on what i kind of setup i want in the end and how much i want to spend . i was just curious if anyone had a setup like this . now after thinking about it though it seems that the midbasses might overpower the tweeter . so i dont know what i should do .
