I'm sure you guys are very familiar with these two subs...which one do you think is better for sealed enclosure with about 200W? The a/d/s/ is DVC but the 300L would be the SVC version (not the dual 6 ohm).

for the a/d/s/ rs.2 series, i would give it a lot more power than that. AND from my experience and experience of another guy, i suggest goin ported. my 308rs woofers sounded rather choked up in the recommened sealed box.

I also wouldn't recommend putting the Oz subs in a sealed box either. They definitely do better in a large ported box tuned really low. 200W would be enough for one 300L, but I would not try to run two of them with that much.

already told ya.....the sub handles 600 w rms...pretty good for a sq sub. for 200 w rms, i would look at a lower class of subs. why not go w/ the A series woofer.

In looking at a "lower class" of sub like the a/d/s/ A12, am I going to sacrifice a lot of sound quality?
I want a sub that is going to "last" for a while, because once I get it installed I don't want to have to change the install (hopefully something very nice looking that will hopefully NOT cost TOO much). So I'm looking for a very long-term solution to my SQ needs here!

Hmmmm.... The only subs I can attest to for the LONG haul are....
Back in 1988, I bought a pair of Polk Audio MM1025 10" subs for ~130 each. I sold them in '93 to a good friend of mine, who installed them in his VW Flog.
I spoke with him last night, and the Polks are still in excellent shape, the rubber surrounds are still pliable <sp>, they have not come unglued from the cones, and the woofers "sound as good or better than when I bought them from you".....
Wow.... 15year old subs that are still bangin' and sounding good.... I wish I could find another pair just like them!!!!

I see what you are saying...I know I'm asking a lot and it sounds a little silly and inexperienced! I know there is no end-all-be-all for equipment purchases1!
What I don't want to do is spend a lot of money on a complicated install, one that includes a pair of subs that I don't really want (the ones I have now!) only to want to rip them out in a month or two for something more accurate or more responsive. This is why I am trying to find out some more info about these 12's as opposed to the 10's that I already have...I don't want to commit to a custom enclosure for two 10's only to need to modify it soon after for two 12's!
Thanks for the input though, guys, I really appreciate it.
