When I got my termlab it came with Cat5 cables for each sensor, anyone know if they'll work the same with a Cat6 cable? I was offered a 25ft Cat6 cable for free, just wasn't sure if it was worth taking for use with my TL.

It should, cat6 specs are only used if you have 10/100/1000 card and gig switches. Cat6 can still be used in Cat5 applications.

Cool, I don't know anything about those cards or gig switches or the difference between either cable, just wanted to make sure they were close enough to use with a TL and have any problems with it.

Cat 6 is just capable of faster speeds, but like I said it just requires some other equip. Just wanted to share info on the diff! [Smile]

It doesn't require other equipment when it comes to the Termlab.......you should be just fine.

Just don't try and use Cat 6 for low voltage lighting [Wink]

Cat5 and Cat6 are basically the same except 6 will go faster when the technology comes out. From what I understand there's no computer speeds capable of "maxing out" a cat 6 cable..
