hi there, i have term-lab version 6.5.20 build no 0000000179 and cannot get a reading.

i have installed the instacal and termlab software as per the instructions on my laptop.

i cannot however get any reading from the sensor.

i have followed all the advice on this site with regard to uninstalling usb's, checking usb's are not ALI or SIS but when i start the SPL reading i still have a rate of 0.

the usb interface box is the one with the external 14 volt power supply if that helps.

please can anyone help me.

best regards

Rob

Rob,

It sounds like the USB subsystem on your computer is either not compatible with Term-LAB or is not working properly. I would suggest you try the Term-LAB on another computer or purchase a PCMCIA USB adapter card for your laptop. Let me know what you find.

Hi,

i can get it to work on a desktop computer but have tried to install it on 3 different laptops with no success.
in instacal i can make the led flash so there appears to be communication.
i could try the usb pcmcia card and see what happens, although every other usb device i have works perfectly.

Make sure you plug the interface box directly into the computer (instead of a USB hub). Verify that the power led on the interface box and the sensor(s) are illuminated. I still think it is a USB interface issue. Also, please see more troubleshooting info at http://audioforum.termpro.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/get_topic/f/12/t/000019.html.
